History of the department

The Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, like other special departments (technology of dosage forms, organization and economics of pharmacy) is one of the main departments of the State Educational Institution of Medical Sciences named after Abuali Ibni Sino. The department was founded in 1985, its first leader was an experienced specialist in the field of pharmacy Leonid Vladimirovich Pesakhovich. The scientific theme of the department in the early years of its activity was “Determination of medicinal and toxic substances in the structure of biological substrates and materials”. The heads of the department were from 1991 to 1994 - Ismailov Dzhuma Ismailovich, from 1995 to 2007 Gazieva Mukarrama Tairovna. From September 2007 to the present, the head of the department of pharmaceutical and toxicological chemistry is Rajabov Umarali Rajabovich. The composition of the department consists of chemists and pharmacists, all of them are graduates of the medical and national universities. These include former employees of the department: Ph.D. Ismailov J.I., Ph.D. Saidov N.B., Ph.D. Umarova V.R., Ph.D. Gaziev M., Ph.D. Sharipov I.Kh., Ph.D. Turaev O.D., Ph.D. Kozikhonov A.U., Ph.D. Bobokalonov J.T., Today the department employs: Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Radzhabov UR, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor (Academician) Bobizoda G.M., Ph.D., associate professor Nazarova Kh.D., assistants: Alimova B.O., Dzhulaev U.N., Shukhratzoda M., Rakhimova R.N., Azamatov K.A.

A teacher is a mirror of life, he expresses the fate of the state and nation, and he has no right to make mistakes in the learning process, because he has in his hands the fate of the future generation and society. Teachers of the department are engaged with students in the following subjects, such as "Inorganic Chemistry", "Analytical Chemistry", "Physical and Colloidal Chemistry", "Pharmaceutical Chemistry", "Toxicological Chemistry", "Fundamentals of Pharmaceutical Analysis". To date, more than 60 textbooks and teaching aids have been provided to students. The department has developed 8 new programs in 8 subjects in Russian and Tajik.

Another aspect of the activity of teachers of the department is the preparation of scientific and pedagogical personnel. Under the guidance of Dr. Sc., Professor Radjabov U.R. 4 candidate works were protected. At the moment, under his leadership, 1 full-time graduate student, 2 correspondence graduate students, 3 candidates for the degree of candidate of science and 1 doctoral candidate who are conducting their work.

The President of our country, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon constantly repeats in his messages and appeals: “Today, the lack of medicines, their poor quality and poor development of the pharmaceutical industry in the country are of great concern. Nowadays, the issue of poor-quality pharmaceutical preparations and their non-compliance with needs is a concern not only in Tajikistan, but also in many countries of the world. Treatment of patients can be guaranteed when the quality of the drugs is ensured. Taking into account the fact that in Tajikistan there is a lot of raw materials - healing waters and medicinal herbs, and the environment and nature of our country are well suited for the development of the pharmaceutical industry. ” Therefore, each of us should act in the direction of the head of our state, the Leader of the nation, the Founder of the world Emomali Rahmon and work on finding new high-quality medicines that meet the needs of society.

Based on this, the scientific theme of our department is called: "Synthesis, physicochemical, biological properties of coordination compounds of biometals with certain azoles and amino acids and their use in medicine." The scientists of the department were able to study the processes of complex formation of transition metals in an aqueous solution with heterocyclic compounds and draw scientific conclusions.

The new compounds synthesized at the State Educational Institution of Tajik State Medical University named after Abuali ibni Sino are dibaferrol, dibacuprol, albcuprol, metrarg, dibacincate, albzincate, malbincat, zinc. The synthesized compounds are protected by patents of the Republic of Tajikistan and have an Act on implementation in the medical process. Scientific work is carried out in accordance with the agreement on scientific cooperation with the Research Institute at the National University of Tajikistan, the Nikitin Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the RT, the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Institute of Biological Safety of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, Institute of Nutrition of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, Physicotechnical Research Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan named after academician Marova.

In order to improve the results of scientific research, in the future we will pay serious attention to the issue of educating young scientists and inventors in order to create new high-quality compounds. To do this, it is necessary to attract talented and inventive young people to the research work of experts in engineering and technology. Our youth today, that is, the generation of the period of independence, fundamentally differs from previous generations in their worldview, level of thinking, ethics and morality, which is the subject of our pride. Against this background, it is very important that in the future, young people themselves initiate creative undertakings in the country, timely present their scientific and creative achievements, struggle with the manifestation of undesirable phenomena, do not lose political vigilance and are always ready to defend the security of society and the state, honor history and the culture of our people and contributed to the further advancement of our beloved homeland - Tajikistan, the appeals of the President of the country, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon said.

Thus, the scientists of the department found a certain position among the inventors of the republic and the world. Presenting the splendor of the glorious Tajik science to the world, today the flag of science and education of Tajiks will be higher and higher. That is why in 2018. for the best invention in the field of coordination synthesis and use in medicine at the International Women's Competition of the Best Inventors, the assistant of the department Mizhgon Shukhratzoda was awarded the gold medal for the invention “Metrarg exhibiting antimicrobial activity”. World Competition, held in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

On October 13, 2018, department assistant Mijgon Shukhratzoda and graduate student Rauf Sultonov took part in the republican festival “Young inventors and inventors of the country” called “Young creators of the country”, where Mizhgon Shukhratzoda and Sultonov Rauf were awarded a participant diploma. The scientific achievements of the department in the field of invention were discussed on the radio and television media in Tajikistan and abroad. The competition, held on April 12, 2019, dedicated to the World Intellectual Property Day, university staff, the head of the department of pharmaceutical and toxicological chemistry, Ph.D., professor Radzhabov Umarali Radzhabovich, based on the jury's decision, was named “The Best Inventor of Tajikistan 2017-2018” 06/26/19-28.06.19.

Seoul hosted an exhibition of inventions and a forum for women inventors. At the forum, from the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, assistant Rakhimova RN participated in the competition with the invention of "Malbzincat exhibiting antiparasitic action" and was awarded a silver medal.

And you see, today, thanks to his wise policy, the President of our dear country, the Leader of the Nation, the Founder of the World, His Excellency introduced Tajiks and Tajikistan to the world, which should be the pride of every Tajik citizen.
