Academic work of the department
The main educational goals of teaching ophthalmology during the course are to get complete information about the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the most common diseases of the organ of vision, which are of paramount importance for practical public health.
4-year students of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, 5-year of the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Public Health, bachelors, clinical residents, interns, masters and graduate students study at the department. It should be noted that students are taught in Russian, Tajik and English. In addition, clinical residents of related disciplines (otorhinolaryngology, neurosurgery and neuropathology) are trained at the department. Also, the department conducts improvement cycles for ophthalmologists in three areas: 1) glaucoma; 2) current issues of ophthalmology; 3) eye microsurgery.
Educational and methodical activity
For educational work, the department is constantly engaged in the preparation of teaching aids for students of all faculties, as well as for interns and clinical residents. Every year, work programs for all faculties are reviewed, and standard programs are approved every 5 years. Over the past 5 years, 2 textbooks, 11 methodological developments, presentations on all topics of lectures for students of medical, pediatric and dental faculties have been prepared. 1150 exam tests were prepared for students of the medical and pediatric faculties (in 3 languages), 700 for students of the dental faculty (in 3 languages);
