NAVRUZ IS A SPRING HOLIDAY

On March 20 2021at the Department of Foreign Languages of SEI "ATSMU" an event dedicated to the International Day - Navruzwas held.

Head of the department, Professor W.R. Yuldoshev congratulated all those present on the Navruz holiday, wished them all the benefits and successes on the path chosen by them in their profession.

In his speech, he noted that every year, celebrating our traditional holidays, we are convinced that they in turn affect the provision of solidarity in strengthening national unity and occupy the highest place in the social education of young people, since the values of love for the Motherland and respect for its history are the enduring values of any people. On 30 September 2009, the festival of Navruz's ancestors was included by UNESCO in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Mankind, along with 76 other elements of intangible heritage from around the world.

On February 23, 2010, the 64th session of the UN General Assembly by consensus recognized March 21 as International Day Navruz.

Navruz holiday is one of the oldest on Earth. It was known since Zoroastrian times, it was celebrated even before the 7th century BC. The ancient Greek historian Strabo wrote about this festival: "In the oldest, ancient times and according to today's inhabitants of the Interfluves (Syr-Darya and Amu-Darya) gather on this day in the Temple of Fire. This is the most revered holiday, when merchants close their shops, handicraftsmenstop working, everyone has fun, treat each other to those drinks and dishes that the fire touched. "

It is believed that the origin of this holiday is ancient Iranian, associated with the cult of the Sun and the name of the legendary prophet Zaratushtra (spelling variant - Zoroaster, Zardusht). The oldest source where the celebration of Navruzis mentioned is the holy book of Zoroastrianism "Avesta." According to the teachings of Avesta, people must mark every spring the appearance of life on earth, which was born "in six species" (heaven, water, earth, plants, animals and man).

Associate professors M.R. Nazarov and Muhammadiev Z.A. in their speeches noted that in later traditions, Navruz was also associated with the mythia of the Shah Jamshed, on which the rays of the sun fell on this day. Hence, the often used name of the holiday among the Zoroastrians is "NavruziJamshed," and the tradition of coronation of the Iranian Shah on this holiday.

Teachers of the department Kh.I. Khayrova, S.A. Hotamova, M.A. Kholmatova, Z.I. Sharipova, O.A. Lysykh, D.Kh. Sultonova and others said that before Navruz the owners are trying to clean up the house. Also, before the holiday, they decorate houses, clean garbage on the street. Clothes are necessarily washed, especially children's clothes - after all, children are considered the most exposed to the malefices, and the water must wash everything away.

The tablecloth on Navruzis covered with a special one and called it "haft-sin." There must be seven products on the table, the names of which begin with the Arabic letter "sin": rutha seeds - sipand, apple - seb, black bones - siyohdon, wild olive - sanjid, vinegar - sirko, garlic - sire and sprouted grain –sabza - said teachers M.A. Kayumova, R.R.Rajabov, G.H. Mirzoeva, S.K. Hamroeva, M.D. Karimova, D.M. Najmiddinova, Sh.Yu. Mirzoeva, P.I. Manonova

Navruz is the day of joy, gift, treats and respect between friends and even enemies. Navruz is the day of peace and pacification of souls and hearts - students said. They also talked about the history of a dish of sprouted wheat - sumalak.

Students covered the festive table, read poems about spring, sang songs and danced.

The theme of spring, femininity, love, tenderness, mercy of Navruzwas reflected in the lyrics of Tajik poets and writers.
