History of the Department of Dermatovenereology

In 1939 The Tajik State Medical Institute was founded in Stalinabad. The department of dermatovenerology was one of the first among the clinical departments which began its activity in November 11, 1941. Upon analyzing the activity of this department from the moment of the organization to the present time, it is expedient to single out some stages in its history.
The first stage - (1941-1945 – the military period) is the time of organization and formation of the department. For the solution of these issues were sent from the German-occupied territory: Corresponding member ofthe Academy of Science of Belarus, doctor of medical sciences, professor A.Y. Prokopchuk (1941-1943), who in 1942 was appointed to be the director of the medical institute. From 1943 to 1945 the post of the head of the department was occupied by the doctor of medical sciences, professor Jusef Davidovich Perkel.
The second stage - (1945-1959 - post-war period) the department was headed by professor, Ph.D Lazar Mikhailovich Konigsberg for 15 years. The alumni of Samarqand (Barat Rakhmatovich Rakhmatov) and Tajik (Iskhokov Sadik Iskhokovich) were involved in teaching activities. Barat Rakhmatovich Rakhmatov in 1953 defended the candidate "Incidence of skin tuberculosis in Tajikistan and the direct efficacy of tissue D-vitamin therapy for skin tuberculosis," and in 1960 the doctor's "Influence of syphilitic infection and anti-syphilitic treatment on haematopoiesis and indices of haemorrhagic diathesis in patients with syphilis" thesis. Iskhokov Sodik Iskokovich PhD thesis "Dermatomycosis in the Tajik SSR and health education as a factor in their prevention" defended in 1959.
From 1960 to 1978, the honored worker of Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, doctor of Medical Sciences, professor Rakhmatov B.R. headed the department. From this period, the third stage in the history of the department began, when the medical institute became multidisciplinary (the medical, pediatric, dental faculties, the faculty for the improvement of doctors, subordination functioned). Accordingly, the staff of the department expanded, but the pedagogical staff's gradualness was low. Therefore, the critical task of the department was the preparation of teachers with academic degrees, in particular, in the clinical residency, Isaeva E.T. (1964), Zoirov P.T. (1965), Isayeva M.S. (1970), who in the future defended candidate and doctoral dissertations.
During his management of the department, professor B. Rakhmatov prepared 10 (Ryskhiev I.R, Kiyamov F.A, LapushkinaT.P., Isaeva E. T., Zoirov P. T.,) Isayeva M. S., Nesterenko B. A., Usmonov F. I., UsmanovaKh. D., Kasymov O.I. candidates of medical sciences. The scientific interests of the department were studying the effectiveness of local mineral sources in the treatment of chronic recurrent dermatoses, tuberculosis and syphilis.
In connection with the relocation of Professor Boris Rakhmatov in 1978 to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Isaeva E.T. from 1978 to 1983, was the chairman of the department.
Since 1983 the department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences Zoirov Podabon Toshmatovich. At this time, the staff of the department prioritized the training of young scientific and pedagogical personnel. Zoirov P.T. has trained a large school of specialists – dermatovenerologists, who to this day successfully work not only in Tajikistan but also in other countries (Russian Federation, USA, Israel, Qatar). Among them are Dadabaev R.D, Mararenko I.M, Iskhaki D.F., AlievKh. I., Alieva Z. O., Bakhirov D. N., Dyrda N. I., Nedosekova N. G., Mukhamadieva K. M.,
Ismatulloeva S. S., Temirova M. A., Khomidov M. F., Abdumamadova Sh. A., Kosimov A. M., Bukhoriev K. M., Mukhidinova G. M., SinoIbrokhimiSobir.
Since September 2015, Doctor of Medical Sciences MukhamadievaKibriehonMansurovna was appointed the head of the department. The faculty of the department consists of 15 people: a corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the RT, d.m.s., professor (Zoirov P. T.), DS, professor (Isaeva M.S.), doctor of sciences (Mukhamadieva KM), six candidates of medicine, associate professors (UsmonovaKh. D., AbdiyevaD.Kh., Husainov AA, Dadabaev R.D, Saidov B.
