Terrorism is a phenomenon that has existed throughout virtually the entire history of mankind. However, in recent decades there has been a qualitative change. Terrorism has become a global problem that has taken on a transnational character and today there are about 200 types of modern terrorist activities. Modern international terrorism is politically motivated and cross-border in nature. It is one of the biggest threats to the international and national security of states.

Terrorism is one of the most serious threats to peace, security and stability, as well as to the realization of human rights and the social and economic development of the state.

One of the ways in which terrorism works is through the propaganda of terrorist ideas, dissemination of materials or information.

Strategic counter-terrorism, can be considered the use of the Internet for anti-terrorist purposes, close cooperation on counter-terrorism issues, in the framework of partnership between government agencies and the private sector, as well as civil society and the media, since, to date, for the recruitment of young people, various psychological techniques of suggestion are used.

The weapon of modern terrorism is its mental component, the impact of which is aimed at undermining authority, life values, moral foundations and destabilization in society as a whole. In this regard, the study of the mental consequences of terrorism, their prevention and overcoming becomes one of the priority tasks of modern medicine, in particular family medicine, psychiatry and psychology.

In this regard, at the Department of Family Medicine of the State Educational Institution "TSMU named after Abuali ibni Sino", educational work is carried out with each new group of students, so that young people remain vigilant and soberly assess the current situation in the surrounding neighboring countries and do not allow dark forces to violate the peaceful sky of Tajikistan.
