- A joyful and unforgettable moment for the leadership, faculty staff and students of the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University last year, opening a new build building with 10 floors on the territory of the new educational complex "Shifobakhsh" on "Knowledge Day" and "Peace Lesson" on September 1^st , 2022, by the Founder of peace and national unity – Leader of the nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan his excellency Emomali Rahmon said rector of the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University d.m.s., professor Gulzoda Mahmadshoh Qurbonali. The proof is that the building has 62 spacious classrooms, a computer room, 90 workrooms, 26 reference bureaus, two lecture halls, two new halls and four training laboratories to study the nuances of medical science, as well as the creation of 2,262 additional seats of the above.

Last year the number of students at the university was 12,189, together with postgraduate research and medical faculty - 13,397 people. The number of international students reached 1949 from 24 countries, and their number is increasing every year because the amount of the tuition contract is lower than at universities in neighboring countries, and in addition, the conditions of study in English are available at our institution.

From the report of the rector it also became clear that last year 1874 people, including 356 foreign students from nine countries, graduated from the university and were sent to the Ministry of health and social protection of population of the republic.

It should be emphasized that the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University and the educational programs of the university's specialties are fully internationally accredited, meet the standards of the World Federation for Medical Education, and have a certificate of compliance. Innovative technologies for teaching and improving the quality of education should be applied here. The advantage of this educational method is that greater importance is given to the formation of students' independent clinical analytical thinking. At the practical classes the teacher acts as a tutor, i.e. a guide (coachee), and students use modern educational technologies - clinical cases for independent solution of clinical medical tasks (situational tasks), which is recognized as one of the modern methods of education.
