VISIT TO THE "CHILDREN'S HOME No. 1 FOR ORPHANS AND DISABLED CHILDREN" IN DUSHANBE ON NEW YEAR'S EVE.
On December 20, 2025, at the initiative of the assistant of the department of propaedeutics of children diseases of the SEI «Avicenna Tajik State Medical University», F.S. Muradova responsible for students studying under the Presidential quota, teachers of the department and 3rd year students of the 30th group of the medical faculty of and girls from the quota visited the SI "Children's home № 1 for orphans and disabled children" in Dushanbe on New Year’s Eve.
New Year is one of the most important holidays in the calendar. The beginning of the year, January 1, was established by the Roman ruler Julius Caesar in 46 BC. In Ancient Rome, this day was called the day of Janus, who was depicted with two faces: one looking forward, the other backward. New Year is one of the most ancient holidays, the history of which dates back to the time when archaeologists, excavating the pyramids of Ancient Egypt, discovered a fragment of a broken vase with the inscription: “The beginning of the New Year was celebrated with the rise in the level of the Nile River.” The Nile's flooding was of great significance, as only it could bring joy to the desert. Even before the Common Era, the ancient Romans gave each other New Year's gifts, wishing each other happiness, success, and prosperity in the New Year. For a long time, the Romans celebrated the New Year in early March, until Julius Caesar introduced a new calendar. Thus, the New Year began to fall on the first day of January.
We, together with the students, wanted to celebrate the upcoming New Year with orphans and children left without parents, to show them care, love, and attention. In our prosperous and independent country, children are surrounded by care and love, receiving a good upbringing and education in family settings and kindergartens. Particular attention is given to children with disabilities and orphans. The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the esteemed Emomali Rahmon, always emphasizes in his speeches that:
"No orphan, abandoned child, or disabled child is left behind. The state takes them in, provides them with education and care, helps them find a profession and a job, and ensures their future."
The students presented each child with memorable gifts: toy cars for the boys, toy medical equipment sets for the girls, and a New Year's bag of sweets from Santa Claus. The students presented a festive program, including information about the origins of the New Year holiday and greetings in foreign languages. There were poetry readings, New Year's songs, festive art performances, dances, and games. The children played various games, and Santa Claus gave each of them a memorable gift, much to their delight.
The administration of the SI "Children's home № 1 for orphans and disabled children" in Dushanbe and its staff expressed their gratitude for the attention, festive spirit, gifts, and joy we brought to the children.
