Terrorism and extremism are regarded as one of the undesirable manifestations of the international community, causing unpleasant consequences, threats or use of violence, grave psychological and physical harm, infringement on human life, lawlessness, changing the constitutional order of certain countries, usurpation of power, inciting national conflicts, social and religious.

The Republic of Tajikistan, as an independent country, considers preventing and countering terrorism and extremism to be the most important task of ensuring its national security, the region and world, and is taking beneficial measures to strengthen the joint fight against these destructive phenomena. A vivid example of this is the holding in our country of a number of international conferences and meetings on combating terrorism and extremism, during which the unique and uncompromising position of the Republic of Tajikistan as a pioneer country in combating these phenomena became better known.

Now along with other normative and legal documents, the Strategy for Combating Terrorism and Extremism in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025 is in force. As a result of the gradual improvement of legislation, the implementation of programs and strategy to combat terrorism and extremism, the foundation for a targeted and coordinated state policy has been laid.

At the same time, given the state of the modern world and the expanding activities of terrorist and extremist groups, it is necessary to put the issue of education and upbringing of adolescents and youth on the first place and draw attention to them to maturity in the spirit of patriotism and self-consciousness.

In the regular Message of the Founder of peace and national unity, Leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His excellency Emomali Rahmon to Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, it was emphasized that terrorism and extremism, its spread, with its tragic consequences have caused a serious problem.

The prevention of extremism and terrorism is not only the responsibility of the state, but also the responsibility of representatives of civil society and every citizen. This work depends on the point of view of political parties, public and religious associations, and citizens. In our country, prevention of extremist-terrorist phenomena is seen as a means of uniting the efforts of citizens to strengthen our economic and political potential.
