In the context of globalization, the states of the region are comprehensively combating the process of extremism and terrorism within the framework of such politico-military organizations as the SAAD, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other agreements. Terrorist movements carry out terrorist activities under the guise of political organizations, "political refugees", political parties and other forms. Under such conditions, the creation of a stable political system in the Republic of Tajikistan is the only way to counter the geopolitical struggle of the international community, part of which is the activity of extremist groups. Today in Tajikistan all conditions have been created for the participation of movements and parties in politics, there is a wide possibility of uniting citizens, parties, movements and various organizations. However, the law of the state of Tajikistan as a secular state separates religious ideology from politics, and in its domestic and foreign policy Tajikistan regularly promotes the ideas of unification of the nation and revival of national culture.

Political studies of terrorism and extremism in the period of independence have shown that this ugly factor creates obstacles and threats to the progress of society on the scale of Tajikistan, the region and the world. A characteristic feature of extremism and terrorism in modern society is the politicization of Islam. Being an international process, terrorism and extremism have taken a political form and its goal is to gain political power not only within one state, but the entire region.

Based on the study of the state in the years of independence, we paid more attention to analyzing the problem of the emergence of terrorism and extremism in Tajik society during the crisis of the Soviet state, 1985-1990, as this period is considered the beginning of the movement of extremism and terrorism in the country. At the same time, the study of regional extremist processes and institutionalization of extremism and terrorism was carried out in 1990-1999 as a period of civil war, which directly created favorable conditions for the growth of terrorist movements. The research shows that the sources of emergence and ways of spreading extremism and terrorism on the territory of the states of the region become the main factor in destabilizing the political atmosphere of society. Therefore, considering the historical significance of the state policy in this sphere, the state strategy on combating extremism and terrorism, which together with state organizations of Tajikistan's allies will be implemented in the near future in the fight against extremism and terrorism inside and outside the country implemented on the territory of Tajikistan.
