During the period of independence, we have step by step raised the status of women in society and created suitable working conditions for them.

Today, Tajik women and girls faithfully serve the development of all spheres of society and the State, including in the armed forces and law enforcement agencies.

Thousands of our talented girls are currently studying in institutions of primary, secondary and higher professional education, including abroad.

Of the 41,232 Tajik students currently studying in foreign countries, more than 11,000 are girls.

In the past 10 years alone, 11,000 girls have graduated from higher vocational education institutions under the presidential quota.

Of the 3,300 young people who went abroad to study this year only through the Center for International Programs of the Ministry of Education and Science, 30 percent are girls.

Overall, over 256,000 girls have graduated from higher education institutions, i.e. received higher education, since independence. According to statistics, in 1989 only 66 thousand women had higher education.

Today, our women, in addition to working in the civil service, have established manufacturing and service enterprises and have gained a reputation as successful entrepreneurs.

During the years of independence, a large number of talented and highly qualified women and men have been attracted to the civil service and public administration, and this process will continue.

The role of women is effective in maintaining peace and stability, protecting national and cultural values, fostering in children a sense of patriotism, national pride, humanity and responsibility, and preventing undesirable social factors.

I believe that our respected women and mothers will continue to observe the provisions of the laws of the Republic of Tajikistan "On regulation of traditions and holidays and rituals", "On responsibility of parents in education and upbringing of children", preparation of children for independent life, development of arts and crafts.
