In the modern world, addressing the issues of research, scientific discoveries, new inventions in science, especially the development and evolution of medical science, is world need. In the field of medicine, the world community is trying to create new grounds for scientific discoveries, because the medical science is the science of discovery, the science of research, the science which, as a result of innovations and discoveries, frees humanity from all kinds of diseases. The Republic of Tajikistan as an active member of the international community pays special role to the development of all sciences and provides appropriate conditions for scientific activity and achievement of scientific achievements. Avicenna Tajik State Medical University has been working independently in Tajikistan for many years and along with training doctors has made great efforts to train scientific personnel and has achieved unique success in this way.

It should be said that medical science was a proud profession for our ancestors, it gave birth to such world personalities as Muhammad Zakariya Razi, Abuali ibni Sino and others, great men have made invaluable contributions to the development of world medicine, and their invaluable works and methods of healing have been used in terms of education and the teachings of doctors around the world have been studied and read for centuries.

The Avicenna Tajik State Medical University trains scientific personnel for master's degree, postgraduate, doctoral PhD and doctoral studies. There are 7 dissertation councils at the university, including one Council D 737.005.01 at Higher Attestation Commission of Russian Federation and 6 councils at Higher Attestation Commission at the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. In 2022 in dissertation councils were defended 51 scientific dissertation, including 4 doctoral dissertations, 44 candidates and 3 PhD, during this period, scientists of university have published 204 articles in authoritative journals of KOA FR 110 and KOA RT, as well as 21 monographs, 63 innovations and 21 inventions, one of which is Eurasian.

Along with teachers and scientists, students also participate in competitions and contests of national and international level, taking honorable places, raising the prestige of the university and teachers. In the national competition "Science and Knowledge" from the university 1 student took 1^st place and 1 student took 2^nd place in the category of chemistry.

Also in 2022, 231 students of the university participated in 11 Olympiads of medical universities of Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan through online and offline mode, 11 people received Diploma of 1^st degree, 13 people received Diploma of 2^nd degree, 11 people received Diploma of 3^rd degree, 12 people received other diplomas. In order to strengthen the scientific activities of the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University, conferences and various scientific and practical events with the participation of domestic and foreign scientists are held annually at the university.

The faculty staff and professors of the University honorably performs the educational, research, and therapeutic-consulting work entrusted to them. In 2022, the teaching staff of the University provided therapeutic and consultative assistance to 52,418 patients. It should be noted that the scientists of the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University implemented 5 scientific projects funded from the state budget, 15 research projects implemented in 2022-2026 years, 14 research projects proposed for 2024-2028 years, 27 innovative scientific topics on which the departments carry out their research activities.

Thus, scientific activity is considered one of the main criteria determining the level of development of higher professional institutions. Therefore, the management of the university attached special importance to the development of scientific activities and identified the development of scientific activities and strengthening of human resources as one of the goals of the university's activities. Avicenna Tajik State Medical University fulfills its mission to the state and the people, taking into account the available opportunities for the development of human resources and training of scientific specialists in the field of health of the Republic of Tajikistan.
