Terrorism and extremism are considered as one of the undesirable manifestations of the international community, causing unpleasant consequences, the threat or use of violence, grave psychological and physical harm, infringement on human life, lawlessness, changing the constitutional order of individual countries, usurping power, inciting national conflicts, social and religious.

The Republic of Tajikistan, as an independent country, considers the prevention and combating of terrorism and extremism as the most important task of ensuring its national security, regional security and peace, and is taking useful measures to strengthen joint efforts against these destructive phenomena. A vivid example of this is the holding of a number of international conferences and meetings in our country on combating terrorism and extremism, during which the unique and uncompromising position of the Republic of Tajikistan as a pioneering country in combating these phenomena has become better known.

The country currently has a Strategy for Countering Terrorism and Extremism in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025, along with other legal and regulatory acts. The gradual improvement of legislation and the implementation of programs and strategies to counter terrorism and extremism have laid the foundation for a focused and coordinated state policy.

Today we are witnessing that terrorist and extremist organizations carry out their aggressive actions in connection with religious fanaticism. In addition, extremist and terrorist organizations and groups make extensive use of advanced information technologies in pursuit of their nefarious goals. Therefore, every person who is an Internet user must fight terrorism, the spread of extremist ideology and religious extremism on the Internet and social networks. As our collective struggle is the guarantor of peace and security of society, it will narrow the positions of extremist interest groups and destroy their plans. At the same time, given the state of the modern world and the expansion of terrorist and extremist groups, it is necessary to put the issue of education and upbringing of teenagers and young people in the first place and bring them to maturity in the spirit of patriotism and self-knowledge.
