Terrorism and extremism are undesirable manifestations of the century, which appear in different forms and types and threaten the countries of the world with their terror. The Republic of Tajikistan is constantly making beneficial efforts to eliminate the dangers and threats of terrorism and extremism. And in this direction, it is also recognized as an active and leading country. Extremist organizations and terrorist organizations act as a threat to the national security of any country in the world. Extremist and terrorist organizations are trying to disrupt political stability and security and peace of states by spreading radical ideas, inciting hatred and enmity, recruiting ignorant youth and committing terrible crimes. That is, today terrorism and extremism have become the primary dangers of the modern world.

Terrorism and extremism are considered to be one of the worst threats in the modern world. Every year, as a result of the activities of terrorists and extremists, hundreds of innocent people are killed and peaceful societies become unstable. The reality of today's world and certain incidents are evidence of the destructive threat of terrorism and extremism. It has been more than two decades that the international community has achieved significant achievements in the fight against the threat of terrorism and extremism, but despite this, terrorism and extremism still worries the states. The Republic of Tajikistan is recognized as one of the leading and active countries in the fight against the threat of terrorism and extremism. In order to combat this danger, a set of political, legal and educational activities have been launched in the country. The countries of the world and international institutions have also highly appreciated the role of Tajikistan in the fight against the dangers of the modern world, such as terrorism and extremism, extremism and drug trafficking. That is why, in the capital – Dushanbe city, high-level international events related to measures to prevent the dangers of terrorism and extremism and ways to solve such problems are constantly held with the participation of representatives of states and world-renowned organizations and organizations, as well as a wide range of experts and politicians. In particular, in 2018, 2019 and 2022, high-level international conferences on preventing the dangers and threats of terrorism and extremism were held in Tajikistan with the participation of world-class experts and world-renowned organizations. In the conditions of the growing world political situation and its rapid changes and developments, increasing inter-state and inter-religious conflicts and organized growth of cross-border threats, the vulnerability of societies is felt. The events of the end of the world show that terrorism and extremism have become the main dangers of the modern world. Such undesirable manifestations of the century, that is, terrorism can increase the real dangers in any form to the fate of any nation on the planet. Tajikistan, as a country that has experienced the consequences of these dangers, is still not far from its influence. The Republic of Tajikistan under the leadership of the founder of peace and national unity - the leader of the nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan his excellency Emomali Rahmon has a worthy position and an active role in the fight against terrorism and other risks related to it in the international community. Since the first years of independence, Tajikistan has defined its own position and presents its proposals from the platforms of world organizations and international conferences related to this issue to this day.

It should be noted that Tajikistan also has a great contribution to the organization of the anti-terrorist center of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Also, the role of Tajikistan within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Commonwealth of Independent States, is very effective in the fight against terrorism. In this process, the National Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan on countering extremism and terrorism for 2016-2020 was implemented, and the Strategy for Countering Extremism and Terrorism in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025 was adopted.

It is known to everyone that in the modern world, various dangers and threats, such as terrorism and extremism, clash of civilizations, xenophobia and extremism, worry the states, because the negative impact of these dangers and threats has a direct impact on the security of the states. In such circumstances, patriotism and respect for national and state values are the guarantors of the development and strengthening of national statehood, stability, peace and a peaceful and happy life.
