Tashkent Medical Academy hosted an international conference of the BERNICA project as part of the Erasmus+ “International Days”
On April 10–11, 2025, in the Tashkent Medical Academy hosted an international scientific and practical conference titled: "Current Issues in Nutrition and Dietetics: Nutritional Specifics of Various Population Groups."
The event was organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ program and the project 101082831 – BERNICA – ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE
(Building Educational and Research Capacities in Nutrition and Dietetics in Central Asia).
The conference was attended by well-known scientists, practicing doctors, researchers and specialists in the field from Uzbekistan and a number of foreign countries. The Avicenna Tajik State Medical University was represented by S.N. Saidova, specialist of the International Relations Department.
The conference addressed pressing topics and innovative approaches in the field of nutrition and dietetics.
Key topics of discussion included:
- the role of protein in sports nutrition;
- functional food products;
- modern aspects of dietary supplements use;
- strategies for nutritional support of patients with comorbid conditions;
- dietetic approaches to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and endocrine disorders.
The conference facilitated the exchange of scientific experience, strengthened international cooperation, and contributed to the development of professional competencies among specialists in the fields of nutrition and public health.
