REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN - PEACE INITIATOR!

REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN - PEACE INITIATOR!

“Terrorist does not have a homeland, nation, religion and faith”. Emomali Rahmon.

Extremism has political, economic and ideological forms, and religious extremism exists in all religions of the world - Islam, Christianity, Buddhism and others. Extremism and terrorism are among the concepts that have become commonplace in the modern world, and the two are interrelated. The rise of extremism eventually leads to terrorism. The term terrorism is derived from the Latin word terror, which means fear and panic. Terrorists want to achieve their goals through violence, murder and intimidation. The interpretation of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan states: "The main purpose of terrorism is to undermine public security, intimidate people and the population and thereby put pressure on state bodies. Such actions are the ultimate goal of criminals who force state bodies to make illegal decisions in their favor or in order to tarnish the image of state officials".

Scientists point out that world powers are complicit in the spread of extremism and terrorism in the Islamic world and thus pursue their geopolitical and geostrategic goals. Currently, separation and dissension permeate Muslim states and territories, and extremist views and ideologies extrinsic to Islam have divided Muslims and turned them into opposing sects and groups. One group calls the other unbelievers and the countryman fights against his countrymen. Under the guise of Islam, extremist groups have committed the most horrible and heinous acts including genocide, beheading of women and girls, destruction of nations, burning of Muslim houses, bombing of mosques, enslavement of women and children, use of all kinds of weapons against Muslims, robbing people, misleading youth in the name of Islam and hundreds of thousands of other injustices.

According to analysts, the situation is too dangerous and only military security measures alone cannot solve the problem. It is necessary to study the causes and roots of the disease from a scientific point of view.

The current situation requires all world leaders, especially Muslims, scholars and thinkers, to utilize wisdom and scientific research, hold conferences, develop serious, honest, comprehensive and all-round scientific solutions to all intellectual, economic and social problems. It should be noted that in recent years, terrorism has acquired an international image and small groups are joining together. In this case, this plague of the century can be eradicated only by global unification and faithful struggle of all countries of the world. But as long as some powers use even terrorists to achieve their geopolitical goals and there are double standards in the world against terrorism, the world community cannot hope for a world free of terrorism. What is unfortunate is that today not only the superpowers but also the neighboring countries of the Islamic world have a dual approach to the problem of terrorism. A group that is a terrorist in the eyes of one country is a freedom fighter in the eyes of another, or vice versa. That is, even an Islamic country likes to watch the bloody scenes of war in another Islamic country simply because its adversary is getting weaker. The use of 'dual politics' with regard to terrorism and extremism will significantly reduce the effectiveness of the international community's joint efforts to combat this phenomenon and, on the contrary, will create new tensions between military and political alliances and further destabilize the world."

It should be noted that independent Tajikistan in the nineties of the last century experienced tragic events in the fight against extremism and terrorism and suffered heavy losses. The modern process of globalization has spread to Tajikistan's society. Today Tajikistan is a member of a number of anti-terrorist organizations. From the first days of its new statehood, Tajikistan has condemned such crimes, amended and supplemented existing laws, joined international governmental and non-governmental organizations in this process and strongly condemned all acts of terrorism and extremism. It is worth noting that Tajiks have always been and remain opponents of terrorism and extremism.

Today in the international arena, the Republic of Tajikistan is recognized as an active participant in the fight against terrorism and extremism, and its proposals are supported by the international community.

During the short history of its statehood in the conditions of independence, the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Tajikistan have succeeded in combating this undesirable phenomenon and today continue the struggle. In the region and in the world arena, our republic is not indifferent to the fight against extremism and terrorism. Taking a serious and stable position it desires close cooperation with authoritative international organizations and countries of the world.

Although the fight against terrorism and extremism is the main task of law enforcement agencies, full support of citizens in this regard is also necessary. A sense of patriotism should be instilled in the younger generation of primary, secondary and higher education institutions to eliminate the propensity of youth to such extremist tendencies. In order to fight extremism and terrorism, all sectors of society must take responsibility and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to protect society from the consequences of this plague of the century.
