MODERN DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: ENHANCING EDUCATIONAL QUALITY

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly becoming an integral part of the healthcare system, opening new frontiers in medicine. In the address by the Head of State on the primary directions of the domestic and foreign policy of the country, the period from 2025 to 2030 was declared the "Years of Development of the Digital Economy and Innovations" in the Republic of Tajikistan. Tajikistan is making steady progress toward the digitalization of its national economy.

As part of the seven priority areas identified for the development of the digital economy over the next five years, the Head of State emphasized three key initiatives that can be integrated into the educational process:

1.    Comprehensive digitalization of public services and the establishment of a unified services database.

2.    Development of human capital through the training and retraining of IT specialists both domestically and abroad, alongside efforts to enhance digital technology literacy.

3.    Extensive implementation of artificial intelligence in service delivery and state registration processes.

The relevant national government bodies are advised to undertake effective measures in this regard to ensure the sustainable advancement of higher professional education in the coming years.

In this context, it is proposed to establish the University of Innovation and Digital Technologies based on the Institute of Technology and Innovation Management in the city of Kulyab. This initiative underscores the critical importance of advancing this field for the nation’s development.

During a regular meeting of the Department of Normal Physiology, one of the key topics discussed was the integration of innovative methodologies and technologies with human-like capabilities to address challenges in the educational process. The implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) by educators has the potential to enhance the teaching process and pedagogical practices by reducing routine tasks and streamlining class preparation. Such advancements can significantly contribute to sustaining students’ interest in learning and improving their comprehension of the material.

The adoption of intelligent technologies should be regarded as a tool for professional growth among educators, enabling a more independent and effective learning environment. Furthermore, it provides an opportunity to train a new generation of skilled professionals for the healthcare sector. Similar to other domains, the application of AI in education offers the potential to optimize and accelerate tasks while improving key performance indicators (KPIs) for educators.

For instance, algorithms can facilitate the development of a large number of case assignments within a shorter timeframe or significantly reduce the time required to prepare comprehensive lesson plans. Integrating AI training into medical education has become a critical component for fostering innovative approaches to diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, it enables students to expedite the acquisition of essential skills and knowledge.

However, it is imperative for undergraduate medical students to perceive AI not as a substitute for physicians but as a complementary tool designed to enhance the quality of healthcare services and increase their accessibility to patients. This involves programming systems capable of data analysis, experiential learning, and making informed decisions under human supervision.

In conclusion, the integration of AI into higher education profoundly influences the quality and effectiveness of learning. Therefore, organizing specialized training courses for educators on the application of AI in teaching may be a prudent step forward.
