On May 23, the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Jamoliddin Abdullozoda met with the Vice-Governor of Russian St. Petersburg Oleg Ergashev.

Abdullozoda expressed satisfaction with the mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia in the field of health.

Ergashev noted that he had visited Tajikistan with a number of health workers to share experiences with their Tajik counterparts in various areas of health, particularly the prevention of infectious diseases and the introduction of new methods of diagnosis and treatment.

The parties also exchanged views on the expansion of cooperation of the Ministry with health care institutions of St. Petersburg.

As part of the visit, medical specialists from St. Petersburg will visit a number of health facilities in Dushanbe.
