MEHRGON – A GREAT ANCIENT FESTIVAL
On October 17 of the current year, a festive cultural and educational event dedicated to the ancient festival of Mehrgon was held with special splendor at the Department of Foreign Languages. As a symbol of friendship, unity, love, and gratitude for the bountiful gifts of our ancestral land, Mehrgon still retains its great educational significance. Students of curator groups 45 and 42 of the 2nd year of the Faculty of Medicine delivered meaningful reports and presented an engaging program. They shared their thoughts on the history of Mehrgon's origin, its philosophy, and the preservation of ancestral heritage.
The official part of the event was opened by Associate Professor Karimova M. D., who spoke about the status of Mehrgon in the culture of the Tajik people and the role of foreign languages in promoting national values, noting:
«Mehrgon is an ancient tradition of goodness, justice, and friendly bonds among people. Honoring such ancient festivals plays an important role in raising the sense of patriotism and national self-awareness».
Following this, group curator Ramazanova I. M. delivered a speech, expressing gratitude to the participants and active students for their thorough preparation. It was emphasized that holding such events makes a valuable contribution to enhancing students' aesthetic taste and worldview.
