FROM THE LIFE OF NOBLEMEN (ON THE 90th ANNIVERSARY OF ACADEMICIAN MUQIM KARIMOV)

In the life of mankind there are individuals who have become role models by their deeds and whose names are forever inscribed in the history of the nation and the homeland in golden lines. This multitude of people, like a shining light, illuminates the path of life for future generations, and the younger generation learns life lessons from their work. One such famous person is Academician Karimov Muqim, who would be 90 years old this year if he were alive.

Karimov Muqim was born in ancient Khujand, the birthplace of thousands of great personalities and heroes of the nation, and spent his blessed life teaching and enlightening. Shodravon Karimov M.Q. Besides being a good doctor, he was also a unique scientist, a skillful teacher and an incomparable sportsman.

Professor Karimov After graduating from the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University, he started the path of scientific activity and studied in residency in 1960-1962, in postgraduate studies in 1962-1965. In 1965-1971, as an assistant of the Department of Topographical Anatomy and Surgical Operations, he also conducted teaching and pedagogical activities. From 1971 to 1980 he headed the Department of Sports Anatomy and Morphology and simultaneously held the position of Deputy Rector for Educational and Scientific Work of the Institute of Physical Education. For his sincere services he was awarded the title of Master of Sports of the USSR. This title may be rare for a doctor in those years and even today. In 1980-1992 he worked in various positions - Head of the Department of Topographic Anatomy and Surgery (1980-1986), Professor (1987-1992) and at the same time Dean of the Pediatric Faculty (since 1981) of the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University.

During the difficult years of the civil war he fearlessly continued his professional activity, in 1992-1993 he held the position of professor of the department of Anatomy, in 1993-1994 - dean of the faculty of medicine, and from 1994 to 1996 - head of the department of anatomy, vice-rector for academical work of Khujand State University. Then in 1996-2006 he worked as a director and at the same time head of the united chair of anatomy, topographic anatomy and surgical operations of the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University branch in Khujand city.

He was the author of more than 150 scientific books and articles, 4 monographs and a number of innovative proposals, methodological recommendations and discoveries. He participated and delivered speeches at international conferences and symposia in the cities of Tashkent, Almaty, Kiev, Minsk, St. Petersburg, Moscow and the states of Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Germany, etc., which raised the fame of Tajik medical science even more.

 

Fortunately, today the work of this virtuous and intelligent man is continued by his daughter, doctor of medical sciences, professor Usmanova Gulnora Muqimovna, who pleases her family.
