The ancient history and the end of the last century of our country includes great political events, each of which has a special role at its own stage. In the recent history, from our point of view, our highest achievement is the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, realized after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

In the first years of Tajikistan's independence in the 1990s, it faced enormous political problems that escalated into civil war conflicts. In this situation, the newly elected leader of Tajikistan Honorable Emomali Rahmon with all his strength, courage and bravery vigorously fought to ensure peace and stability in Tajikistan, as a result of which the state and the nation were saved from destruction and annihilation.

Independence is the proof of existence of a full-fledged and sovereign state of Tajikistan in the world community, which independently conducts its system of statehood, domestic and foreign policy, economic, social and cultural policy. State independence is a symbol of sovereignty and patriotism of the proud and civilized Tajik people, who have written their own destiny with their own hands, found a special approach and suitable status and position in the international community, and the pulse of our state and nation resonates with the pulse of the planet.

Thanks to the initiatives of a wise Leader, sincere human sincerity, the spirit of patriotism, effective cooperation in the space of mutual understanding, organization of useful activities of the pillars of state power, non-governmental organizations, people's movements and political parties, the faith of the people of the country, including various political factions, in the side of the Head of state, as well as the ingenuity of our respected and cultured people gave the desired results, and finally, on June 27, 1997, the General Agreement on Peace and Unity was signed.

Today it should be emphasized that the achievement of national harmony, peace and unity is a logical continuation of the policy of the state and government of Tajikistan and the tremendous efforts of the Founder of peace and national unity, the Leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His excellency Emomali Rahmon.

Time and historical experience of the period of independence proved, and the definite path and course of history of the new statehood of Tajikistan proved that the people of the country have a healthy and strong force, which prevents any adventurism and is able to create and protect the reputation and prestige of the country in the international arena.
