The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in his Address to Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan on December 23, 2022, in order to improve the social status of the population, raised the salaries of military servicemen, law enforcement officers, employees of educational, scientific, medical and social institutions, the amount of pensions and scholarships are considered as necessary.

In this regard, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan "On measures to strengthen the level of social protection of the population, to increase the actual wages of civil servants, workers of budgetary organizations, the amount of pensions and stipends" was approved. In accordance with this Decree No526 of February 6, 2023, official salaries of military servants, law enforcement officers were increased by 25% from March 1, 2023 and other workers of these bodies by 20%, and from July 1, 2023 the official salaries of education, science, health care, social institutions were increased by 20%.

Also from July 1, 2023, the basic pension will be increased by 20 percent and will be set at 250 somoni.

Insurance pensions established on the basis of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Insurance and State Pensions" will be increased by 16 percent.

Other current pensions established on the basis of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On pension provision for citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan" and "On insurance and state pensions" will be increased by 20 percent of the basic pension rate.

According to this decree, starting July 1, 2023, the existing student scholarships and other types of stipends will be increased by 20 percent.

The necessary funds will be allocated from the state budget this year in order to increase the salaries of workers in these sectors under the aforementioned parameters.

Completion of this measure is aimed at further improvement of welfare of the population, first of all on the state support to vulnerable part of society in the current conditions of international community and purposeful implementation of social policy of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
