At the department of propaedeutics of children’s diseases of the State Educational Institution “Avicenna Tajik State Medical University” from 01.11.2023 to 03.11.2023 were held open lessons on the theme: “Constitution Day of the Republic of Tajikistan” with the participation of the staff of the department and students of the 3rd year of pediatric and medical faculties.

Constitution is the basis of the country's legislation, its supreme legal act. The Constitution in Tajikistan is a fundamental document defining the basis of the state structure, the procedure for the formation and functioning of the main state bodies of legislative, executive and judicial power, local self-government bodies, the procedure for the election, as well as the powers of the head of state, the basic rights, freedoms and duties of citizens, the procedure for amending the Constitution and the possibility of its revision.

The Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan was adopted on November 6, 1994, and for the first time in the modern history of the Republic of Tajikistan a national referendum on the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan was held. In subsequent years - in 1999, 2003 and 2016, the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan was amended and supplemented by referendums. It consists of 10 chapters and 100 articles.

The Constitution of Tajikistan states that it is an independent, socially-oriented state that recognizes human rights and freedoms as a core value and defines citizens as the main source of sovereignty. The celebration of the Constitution Day of Tajikistan is accompanied by the hoisting of the State Flag. On the initiative of State bodies, local executive authorities, voluntary organizations and the organizing committees of labour collectives, events of a socio-political nature are held, as well as concerts and other festive entertainment events.

On the eve of Constitution Day, which is annually celebrated in the country on November 6, it is very important to assess its role in the life of society, political, social and cultural processes. We should not forget that the main law of the country was adopted in a very important historical period for us. We, the citizens of an independent state, can confidently say that today we have all the state attributes to be proud of. On the one hand, this is a pleasant fact, and on the other hand, it obliges every citizen of the republic, wherever he is, to fulfill all the norms and obligations laid down in the fundamental document - the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan.

During the period of independence, despite many difficulties and obstacles, on the basis of our Constitution we have built a state in which peace, tranquility, political stability and national unity are firmly established, and the people live in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility with confidence in their future. Citizens of Tajikistan will continue to make efforts and united labor to make a significant contribution to the improvement and development of our beloved Motherland, the development of the state and greater improvement of living conditions in every family. The patriotic and civic duty of each of us is to consolidate the great achievements of the nation and the state, selfless activity for the bright future of our Motherland, honoring the norms of the Constitution and achieving our creative goals on its basis.

“On the basis of the Constitution, peace and tranquility, full political stability, unity and mutual understanding, sustainable and accelerated development of all spheres of life of society, prosperous life of citizens, their faith in a bright future, authority and image of Tajikistan in the international arena have been established and ensured in the society. I am convinced that the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan will serve the development of Tajikistan's society, well-being and peaceful life of every resident of our beloved Motherland for centuries to come”.
