Annually August 18, Republic of Tajikistan celebrates the Healthcare Employees Day, which is dedicated to the birthday of the great scientist, famous physician, thinker and philosopher of the world Avicenna.

"The health of the nation is the wealth of the state" is an important and momentous point from the constant emphasis of the Founder of peace and national unity - Leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan his excellency Emomali Rahmon in the direction of protection of public health. Respected Head of state Emomali Rahmon declared health care and social protection of the population as a priority direction of social policy of the state and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and in the era of independence, important measures were implemented to develop the sector.

Today, Tajik physicians have modern capabilities to diagnose and treat patients. Physicians play an extremely important role in protecting the health of the community and the state, and the state and society rely on physicians for the health of the nation. Tajik doctors have repeatedly proved their courage and professional skills and have played a valuable role in the direction of public health. As a living being, human beings are always vulnerable in their lives and need doctors. Physicians have been, are and remain true heroes in the search for measures and cures throughout the life cycle of mankind, especially in an era when human life is threatened by deadly infectious diseases. They risked their own lives and saved the lives of others.

It is worth remembering that during the COVID-19 outbreak, hundreds of medical professionals sacrificed their lives to save their contemporaries and compatriots. Their achievements proved once again that doctors are the true heroes of human society. Each of us is obliged to appreciate and respect the daily work of doctors.

It is worth emphasizing that the role of the State Educational Institution "Avicenna Tajik State Medical University" is very valuable in training knowledgeable and professional specialists. Every year many people graduate from this school of science and education and work in Tajikistan and abroad with a high sense of responsibility. It should be said that medical science was a proud profession for our ancestors, it gave life to such world personalities as Muhammad Zakariya Rozi, Avicenna and others, great people made invaluable contribution to the development of world medicine, and their invaluable works and their therapeutic methods have been used for centuries in terms of education and medicine. Tajik doctors are always faithful to their oath, and for them the value of humanity and saving people's lives is above everything, which is worthy of praise and pride. Today, our doctors work effectively in all hospitals of the country with one goal - "Urgent and timely treatment of patients for the sake of a good tomorrow of Tajikistan".

Pride that our domestic doctors, who are the pride of the Motherland and the people, the true heirs of the Great Avicenna, with pride, courage and high responsibility fulfill this important and momentous task.
