June 28^th , 2022, the SEI "ATSMU" in the framework of the International Summer School on pharmacology and pharmacognosy for students of the faculty of pharmacy conducted a conference on the theme: "Medical plants and their role in phytotherapy of metabolic syndrome" with participation of teachers of the department of pharmacology and pharmacognosy and students of the 3rd year of pharmacy faculty of ATSMU and students of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy.

          At the beginning of the event with a welcoming speech by d.m.s., professor of the pharmacology department of the SEI "ATSMU " Ishankulova B.A, Ph.D., associate professor, head of the department of pharmacognosy Rajabov G.O. and a guest of the conference doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences UKMA Orazbekov E.K.

         Then there were very interesting reports by the conference participants on botanical descriptions, chemical composition, pharmacological properties of medicinal plants used in the medicine of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan to treat various diseases. After listening to the reports, there was a discussion with the active participation of the conference participants.

         This event was very useful and necessary for both states, as it promotes convergence and fruitful cooperation in the field of medicine and science. It was proposed to organize similar events in the future in order to develop medicine and science in both countries.
