The Sada Festival is one of the ancient seasonal festivals of the Oriyanajad people and is a symbol of warmth, light and the victory of light over darkness. This holiday is celebrated in winter, usually on the 10th of Bahman (according to the Gregorian calendar, the end of the night of the 30th and the beginning of the 31st of January).
Sada in the Avast language means "to go out and rise." This day is also called Obonruz.
History of the Sada: Hakim Abulqasim Ferdowsi, in his book "Bezawal," attributed the origin of the Sada festival to King Hushan. According to legend, Hushan saw a snake while hunting and threw a stone at it. The stone collided with another stone, causing a fire. Hushan was amazed by this light and said, "This is divine light and God's blessing." From that day on, people celebrated Sada in memory of the origin of fire.
Sada Festival Rituals: The main ritual is the lighting of a large fire, called the "Sada Fire." This fire symbolizes warmth, light, purification, vitality, and joy. People gather around the fire, sing, pray, dance, and play. Women prepare bread, sweets, dried fruits, and traditional dishes. It's a symbol of abundance and blessing. People gather together, wish each other well, reminisce about the past, and share stories and ancient Aryan legends.
The role of the Sada festival in people's lives: a symbol of mutual understanding and unity. Sada brings people together. It is a celebration of love, friendship, and solidarity. Sada explains to people that: nature is man's friend; cold and heat are laws of nature; the power of fire can change life. Spiritual role. The Sada Fire symbolizes purity; enthusiasm; hope; and the struggle against life's difficulties. Historical and cultural role. Sada is one of the important foundations of Aryan culture and the civilization of the Persian-speaking people. It is still celebrated in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan. The Sada Festival is a celebration of light, warmth, friendship, and hope. It is considered one of the greatest values of Aryan culture and teaches us that “Light always conquers darkness.”
