Climate change has become one of the global issues of the modern age every year, and it is the reason for the occurrence of natural disasters in all corners of the world, such as the rapid melting of glaciers, unprecedented floods, destructive storms and tornadoes, floods and landslides, droughts due to low rainfall and become other catastrophic hydrometeorological phenomena and have a negative impact on water and hydropower resources, public health and food security of states. According to climatologists, one of the main causes of climate change in the world is related to the increase in emissions of greenhouse gases, and this factor has caused the warming of the air temperature on the globe and has led to rapid melting of glaciers.

The analysis and research of climatologists proved that year after year, due to the continuous impact of climate change on the planet, glaciers, which are the main source of water formation in the world, have disappeared, causing a shortage of clean drinking water and the occurrence of natural disasters on earth. The consequences of climate change on the planet Earth have forced climatologists and the world community to introduce ways to prevent, adapt and reduce the melting of glaciers using new methods and tools.

The international decade "Water for sustainable development" 2018-2028, the fourth initiative of Tajikistan, which is aimed at the benefit of the lake of the planet, once again gives a serious impetus to solving the issue of water for sustainable human life.

According to observations, during the last 70 years, about 35 percent of the small glaciers of Tajikistan have been lost. Out of 13,000 glaciers located in the mountains of Tajikistan, 1,000 have been destroyed.
