Many countries celebrate the New Year on January 1, the first day of the year according to the Gregorian calendar. In Tajikistan, New Year's Day was first celebrated at the beginning of the last century, in 1935 to be exact. Then the holiday was prepared for the capital of our republic, which at that time was called Stalinabad. For the first time in the country in stores and markets were on sale Christmas toys and Christmas trees, and for children were brought sweet gifts, fruit and drinks.
