Implementation of international Symposium "Problems of Infectious Pathology" at ATSMU with the participation of native and foreign scientists

Despite significant achievements of modern medical science, the issues of prevention and treatment of some diseases, including infectious diseases, have not been completely solved. One such regional disease that is widespread in the Republic of Tajikistan is human echinococcosis.

According to the statistics, the annual rate of echinococcosis in Europe per 100 thousand people is 0.14 - 15.8, in Russia - 0.3, in the Republic of Tajikistan - 2.7 - 14.5.

Another disease that has has been stalking the world's population for more than two years is the coronavirus infection COVID-19. The disease broke out in the People's Republic of China in 2019, and given its short-lived global spread, the World Health Organization declared the situation an emergency and declared a pandemic March 11th , 2020.

In connection with the state of emergency on the planet, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in March 2020 under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan established the Republican Headquarters for strengthening anti-epidemic measures to prevent the transmission and emergence of new coronavirus infections in Tajikistan.

The Tajik State Medical University named after Abu Ali Ibn Sino was one of the first institutions of higher education to establish a permanent staff of faculty and students. In the framework of the Action Plan of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan on the prevention of infectious diseases, initiated by the leadership of the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University was held May 27, 2022 the International Symposium "Infectious Diseases" with the participation of scientists from the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan and other countries. At the symposium, the participants discussed the etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of human echinococcosis, post-traumatic stress disorder: prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Recall that the symposium was organized by the rectors of the SEI “Avicenna Tajik State Medical University”, d.m.s., professor Gulzoda Mahmadshoh Qurbonali and the “Izhevsk State Medical Academy” - of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, d.m.s., professor Aleksei Shklyaev a new agreement on mutually beneficial cooperation was signed.

According to the results of the International Symposium "Problems of Infectious Diseases" a resolution was adopted that will promote modern achievements of domestic and foreign scientists in the prevention and treatment of echinococcosis and post-traumatic stress disorder in the practice of medicine, public health and social progress.
