Religious extremism and its impact on national culture
If we look at the historical and cultural structure of the Tajik identity from the point of view of the "Arab-non-Arab" debate, our people are historically, racially and culturally Aryan, Iranian, Persian-speaking and "non-Ajam", and those values and historical, national and cultural At the same time, they are the national values and pride of the Tajik people. In particular, the ancient names, personalities and pre-Islamic Aryan personalities, the history of the ancient Iranian statehood, Iranian national traditions and celebrations, the Tajik Persian language, etc. are an integral part of the identity values of the Tajik nation and its difficult national identity. So, in the context of Tajikistan, an attack on the history, language and values of the “foreign” or “Iranian” is in fact an attack on the history, language and values of the Tajiks themselves.
Therefore, today's religious extremism is incompatible with the culture, historical identity and Tajik national identity, and the development of extremist
ideology in Tajikistan leads to the destruction of Tajik culture and national identity. In short, modern religious extremism has the character of Arab nationalism and is a sworn enemy of the identity and cultural existence of the Iranian Tajiks. This point is very important and vital for anyone who has in his heart the Tajik national identity. Understanding this horror will inevitably change the attitude of every citizen of Tajikistan to the phenomenon of modern religious extremism.
