All modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of nervous system diseases are used in the Republic, including such exact methods as computer tomography (CT), magnetic resonance (MRI). All surgical interventions of the nervous system (skull and brain, spine and bone marrow) are carried out using the operational microscope of the modern generation "OPMI VARIO" microsurgery of the brain is carried out by endoscopic method.

Every year the department carries out 120-150 operations to remove brain tumor, 400-450 operations to remove hernia of intervertebral disks, osteocondrosis of spine, 30-40 operations of hydrocephalus and congenital defects of bone marrow, etc.

Employees of the department take an active part in the medical and advisory work of the department and various regions of the country. They are also actively tool part in the render of medical care to sufferers in emergency situations.

Several new methods have been introduced into the work of the basic departments of the department. As a result of the introduction of new treatments, its indicators on clinical bases of the department have improved. All employees of the department examine patients in the hospital departments according to the approved plan, advice doctors.

Employees of the Department take an active part in the work of the "Health Caravan" organized by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population in Khatlon, Sughd Regions and ARS. Under the guidance of the staff of the Department for the health sector of the country, legal norms of activity in the field of neurosurgery and protocols of treatment of patients have been prepared. Associate Professor Rahmonov Kh.D. is also a freelance chief specialist in neurosurgery of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan.
